In Dumpling Steamer:

  • Slice carrots or zucchini into ½ cm thick circles.
  • Arrange slices inside your bamboo steamer and place 1 shumai dumpling above each carrot/zucchini slice.
  • Steam for 7-10 minutes.
  • Serve with dumpling sauce and enjoy!

 

Pan Steaming:

  • Slice carrots or zucchini into ½ cm thick circles.
  • Arrange slices inside your non-stick pan  and place 1 shumai dumpling above each carrot/zucchini slice.
  • Add 4 tablespoons of water, cover pan with a lid, lower heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until all water has evaporated.
  • Steam for 7-10 minutes.
  • Serve with dumpling sauce and enjoy!

 

Dumpling Sauce:

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

 

Instructions:

  • Dissolve 1 tsp of sugar in 1 tbsp of hot water.
  • Add remainder of ingredients, stir to combine.
