Dutch Old Amsterdam Cheese

How to Build a Perfect Cheese Platter
-
Stick to 3-5 types of cheese at the most, as you don’t want to overcrowd your platter.
-
When selecting your cheese, aim for a textural variety, such as semi-hard, aged, soft. Pair softer and creamier cheeses such as Brie with firm style cheeses, such as Gruyere, Parmigiana or cheddar.
-
Select cheeses made from different milk, such as goat, sheep and cow.
-
Serve cheese at room temperature, rather than straight from the fridge. To do this, remove cheeses from the fridge at least 1 hour before serving.
-
Serve each cheese with a different knife, as they will all start to taste the same if you use the same knife.
-
Serve lighter pre-dinner cheeses, such as mozzarella or goat cheese with savory pairings such as olives, cold cuts or nuts. While post-dinner cheeses should be served with sweet pairings such as jams, honey and dried fruit.
