Egyptian Baladi Beef Cubes


Cooking Instructions:

  1. Sear beef over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes with 1 tablespoon of oil
  2. Stir the beef and once all sides develop a brown crust, set aside
  3. Sauté onion and your preferred vegetables (no carrots or potatoes at this point) in the same pan for 8-10 minutes over medium heat
  4. Mince garlic then add to your onion & vegetables and stir for 30 seconds
  5. Add tomato paste to coat all vegetables and salt
  6. Coat with flour
  7. Add the beef back to the pot and cover entirely with your broth of choice
  8. Bring the stew to a boil on medium-high heat then bring the heat to low and let it simmer for 1-1.5 hours
  9. Add carrots and potatoes to your stew and cover the pan again and let it simmer for another 40-60 minutes
